Testimonial: Sinéad Fearon LMETB, Adult MHFA and Youth MHFA training (2024)

“LMETB chose to offer Mental Health First Aid Training to its FET staff, as supporting learners and colleagues in a Mental Health crisis is one area that so many people can be unsure of. We specifically chose MHFA Ireland to deliver this training as I knew it was the sole licenced provider in Ireland and I wanted to ensure that both the training content and approach was suitable for this particular topic.

The feedback from participants, both from online surveys, and in person to me was extremely positive. Both the training and the resource book will support our FET staff to be able to support someone in a mental health crisis. As we offered both the Adult and Youth courses we therefore we had a good mix of staff who may have direct contact with learners, but also who are likely to be supporting other staff in their roles. 30 LMETB Staff participated, from 14 different centres/sections and so the training will have an organisation- wide impact.

Having attended the training myself, and based on feedback from other participants, I would definitely recommend this training by this provider to other ETBs”.
